Description
Dogs have occupied a powerful place in Mesoamerican folklore and myth since at least the Classic Period right through to modern times. Figures of native dogs, born hairless and called Xoloitzcuintli, were sometimes placed in tombs to accompany souls on the journey to heaven.
These delightful “Dancing Dogs” made in Mexico are similar to ones found in the tombs of Colima. Our version is formed in a mold and then hand detailed. 6.25″H. Includes description card.
